It was a great experience and I highly recommend it.

The best way to get around without a car is to stay in a centrally located city. I chose Florence as my home base and it was a great decision. From there, I was able to easily access many of the region’s most popular attractions, such as the Uffizi Gallery, the Duomo, and the Ponte Vecchio.

I also took advantage of the region’s excellent public transportation system. Buses and trains were frequent and reliable, and I was able to get around to many of the smaller towns and villages in the area. I was also able to take day trips to nearby cities such as Siena and Pisa.

Accommodations in Tuscany are plentiful and varied. I chose to stay in a small hotel near the center of Florence. It was comfortable and affordable and had all the amenities
