Where To Stay In Connecticut

I’m looking for a place to stay in Connecticut for a few days and I’m not sure where to go. I’m looking for somewhere that is close to the city, but also has a lot of outdoor activities and natural scenery. I’m hoping to find a place that is affordable and has a lot of amenities. I’m also looking for a place that is close to public transportation so I can easily get around. Does anyone have any suggestions for a great place to stay in Connecticut?
