He was taught from a young age to follow the Bible and its teachings. As he grew older, he began to question some of the more difficult passages, such as the prohibition of eating pork. He asked his family why this was forbidden, but they could not give him a clear answer.

One day, he decided to look into it himself and read the Bible from cover to cover. As he read, he came across the passage in Leviticus 11:7-8 that said, “And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.”
