What To Wear In Scotland

I’m planning a trip to Scotland in the winter and I’m not sure what to wear. I know the temperature can drop below freezing and I want to make sure I’m prepared. I’m looking for advice on what type of clothing I should bring. I’m thinking I should bring a coat that is warm and waterproof, and I’m also considering bringing a hat, scarf, and gloves. I’m wondering if I should bring a pair of waterproof boots as well. I’m also curious if I should bring any other items to keep me warm, such as a thermal layer. Any advice would be appreciated!
