What To Do If You See A Bear In Your Yard

I recently moved to a rural area and I’m worried about the possibility of seeing a bear in my yard. What should I do if I see one? I understand that bears can be dangerous and should be respected, so I want to make sure that I’m taking the right steps to protect myself and my family. I know that the best thing to do is to stay calm and back away slowly, but if the bear continues to approach, I should make loud noises and wave my arms to scare it away. If the bear still doesn’t leave, I should make sure to find a safe place and call animal control or the police. I also want to make sure that I’m not leaving any food or garbage out that could attract the bear in the first place.
