In What Context Are You Most Likely To See References To Usp/Nf?

I’m a pharmacist and I’m trying to understand what context I’m most likely to see references to USP/NF. I’m aware that USP stands for United States Pharmacopoeia and NF stands for National Formulary, but I’m not sure where I’m most likely to see references to them. I’m hoping to get some insight from other pharmacists and healthcare professionals who may have seen references to USP/NF in their own practice. Any insight would be much appreciated!
