I recently had the amazing opportunity to travel to Thailand for a fraction of the cost of a regular vacation. I was able to take advantage of a few strategies to make my trip more affordable.
First, I looked for flights with layovers in other countries. This allowed me to save a lot of money on airfare. I also looked for flights during off-peak times, such as during the week, which can be much cheaper than flights during the weekend.
Once I arrived in Thailand, I stayed in budget-friendly hostels and guesthouses. I also took advantage of the local transportation, like buses and tuk-tuks, which are much cheaper than taxis.
I also made sure to take advantage of the local cuisine. Eating at street vendors and local restaurants was much cheaper than eating at tourist-oriented restaurants.
