How Can Light Travel From A Source To Another Location?

I’m trying to understand how light can travel from a source to another location. I know that light is made up of electromagnetic waves that travel at the speed of light, but I’m not sure how this happens. Can someone explain to me how light is able to travel from one place to another? Is there a certain process that needs to take place for this to happen? I’m interested in learning more about this and would appreciate any help that anyone can offer. Thank you!
