How To Travel With Oxygen On A Plane

I’m needing help with understanding how to travel with oxygen on a plane. I’m a bit worried about the process and would like to know what I need to do to make sure that I’m prepared for the flight. I’m aware that I need to contact the airlines to inform them of my situation and that I need to bring a letter from my doctor. I’m also aware that I need to bring my own oxygen tanks, but I’m not sure if I need to bring a special type or if I can just bring the ones I currently use. I’m also not sure if I need to bring a special type of mask or if the one I have will be sufficient. Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
