What To Wear To A Memorial Service In The Summer

I’m attending a memorial service this summer and I’m not sure what to wear. I want to make sure I’m dressed appropriately and respectfully. I’m thinking something light and airy, but I don’t want to be too casual. I’m looking for something that is respectful and shows that I’m taking this event seriously. I’m also not sure if I should wear black, or if there are other colors that would be more appropriate. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
