How To Use Travel Funds On Southwest

I’m trying to figure out how to use travel funds on Southwest Airlines. I’m not sure if I need to have the funds in my account before I book the flight, or if I can add them after I book the flight. I’m also unsure if I can use the funds for multiple flights and if I can use them for flights that have already been booked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
