What To Do If You See A Dog In A Hot Car

I recently saw a dog in a hot car and I’m not sure what to do. I know that the dog could be in serious danger if left in a hot car for too long, but I’m not sure what the best course of action is. I’m concerned that if I call the police, the owner may get in trouble and the dog might be taken away from them. On the other hand, I’m worried that if I don’t do anything, the dog could be in serious danger. What should I do?
