Where To Stay In Downtown La

I’m looking for a place to stay in downtown LA. I’m hoping to find something that’s close to the attractions and restaurants but also reasonably priced. I’m looking for a place that’s comfortable and clean, with amenities like a pool and gym. I’d also like to find a place that’s close to public transportation so I can easily get around the city. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should stay in downtown LA?
